Criminal Financial Investigation
There are many excellent private investigators, but a specialization in investigating financial crimes means more than simply law enforcement or research skills. Accounting knowledge is a must. Our founder and principal investigator, Tony Smith, is a licensed CPA and member of the AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants). An experienced investigator who is also a CPA is better suited to review your records and find any inconsistencies.
Tony is also a Certified Fraud Examiner. CFEs are specially trained in complex financial transactions, investigating fraud, and designing programs to prevent fraud. Continuing education keeps CFEs at the top of their game and knowledgeable in all the ways criminals may try to defraud you and your business.
The unique background of agents at FBIS is vital to a financial investigation that is commonly referred to as a forensic audit. Through a financial investigation, documentation, and interviews, we can analyze the evidence and find the answers to your questions. Whether we find a simple mistake or evidence of a crime, we'll communicate with you and provide documentation of our findings.

Our investigators will listen and ask questions to determine how our team can best help you.
After the consultation, if we can be of service to you, we'll work with you for access to all the data we need to perform a full investigation.
It's important to remember that a full financial investigation can take time. During the consultation, we'll give you an estimate of how long it may take. Some investigations can take only weeks, but more complex investigations may take months. We'll keep in contact with you during the entire investigation to ensure that you always stay up to date on what we may find.
